But On The Other Hand……
While I was going through the various settings on my Android phone, I found there was a folder that was called “one handed operation”.
Those folks at Google must have figured out early on there would (excuse me) come a day that people would often be using their cel phones to visit porno sites, and on those visits many of them would need a (as it were) helping hand to keep things streaming smoothly.

Solutions For Non-Existant Problems?
You may not often hear about a company that is able to fuck up something as simple as a crow bar and then call it progress, but I’ve found Google to be a source of endless unwanted cures for problems that I don’t have under the guise of watching out for my interests, their new browser that was forced on all cel phone users with a mandatory update is a prime example of this, when it’s really all about being yet another new money making scheme for Google.
I miss those days of “If it’s not broke don’t fix it”
Much like that scariest sentence ever composed, “We’re from the government and we’re here to help you”, their update was, or so they state, designed to help people better organize their incoming email and such, segmenting it into sub categories like “Primary”, “Social”, “Promotions”, “Updates”, and “Forums”, and often also the inclusion of basically spam ads at the top of a list that we’re no longer able to label as SPAM or PHISHING, the only non-satisfying option left to us is to just delete it with no comment.
What this all ends up being for me is time wasted going through each box looking to see if perhaps their algorithm has decided for me that something is worthy of being in that section and in another choice they’ve named as “All inboxes” (by the way, my spell check says inboxes is not a correct spelling.) when the previous method of just dropping everything except for known spam into one box and letting me scan through as I saw fit was easy to do. I know I’m not “everyman” and I don’t receive an endless stream of Twitter and FB crap every ten minutes so my needs are my own, but I have no need for some Google Analytic to decide for me what’s social, a promotion, an update, or a forum.
When there’s nothing in your “Forums” box, this is what you’ll find.
Other than my temporarily getting a facebook account (with no personal information about me, and it will be gone as soon as possible) to enable me to set up a kickstarter campaign for a sitcom I wrote and am producing, I don’t have any need for a “social” sub-section, but it’s not like what is best for me has any real interest to Google.
